Slide After School Clubs

We aim to provide a wide range of After School Clubs and learning activities. The activities we provide offer a variety of experiences that are not always possible within the constraints of the school day and the National Curriculum.

These activities are focused mainly on Sport and the Arts and are intended to enrich the curriculum and develop motivation and self-confidence in all the participants.

The sports clubs are run by Tameside sports coaches who also take the games lessons for all year groups (apart from EYFS).  Clubs recently have also included dodge ball, hockey, tennis, cricket, multiskills for KS1 and dance for KS1 and KS2.

The clubs take place for an hour at the end of the day 3.15 – 4.15.  When Football is the termly option for KS2, it takes place on the Astroturf pitch at Longdendale Community Language College.  All other activities take place on the school premises.
Parental consent is always sought before allowing children to attend clubs. There is a waiting list for the Gardening club, but all other clubs are open on a first come first served basis (see links below). Please assume your child has a place unless the consent form is returned to you. We ask that, in the interests of safety, parents ensure that children are collected promptly.

We currently have several school sports teams who often take part in tournaments against other schools in Tameside.  Recent teams have played football, tag rugby and cricket.  Parents are always invited to come along to support our teams – please keep an eye on the school website for information regarding upcoming sporting events.

New Music initiative

A new massed choir has been set up by Tameside Music Services which is free to attend and will be held at Inspire Academy on Thursdays, 3.45pm and is open to all children aged 7-11 in Tameside who are interested in singing. They will be given regular performance opportunities both within Tameside and at other high profile venues around Manchester.

If you would like your child to be involved, please click here   for a letter giving more details.

Tameside Music Services  also offer hire of musical instruments and music lessons which are delivered in school.  Information on choice of instrument, prices and terms and conditions can be found on their website.
