Children’s targets will be sent home termly with assessment data. Children set their own individual targets, in their topic and maths books, at the end of each half term.
This half term our topic is The Vikings.
In literacy the children have read a story called ‘An Apple a Day’ and a lot of their topic work is based on this story.
The following topics will be taught this year:
Festivals, Australia, Chocolate, The Wizard of Oz and Hollingworth.
Information on Trips
Year 4, along with the rest of the school (except Nursery) will be visiting Chester Zoo on Tuesday, 28th November. The consent letter can be downloaded here.
IXL Maths homework is set each Friday (please see web links below).
Every Friday, a list of spellings will be sent home to learn.
A topic based project is also set each half term.
We encourage children to read a class/library book for 15 minutes each night.
Please make a note of your childs reading in their diary so house points can be rewardard.
If you have any time to spare and would like to offer your services in Year 4 please contact Mrs. Bates or Mrs. Diggle to make the necessary arrangements. Your help will always be welcomed!
