Children’s targets

Children’s targets are sent home termly with assessment data.

Children set their own individual targets, in their topic and maths books, at the end of each half term.

Half Termly Topics

This half term our topic is Stone Age.

In literacy, the children are sharing Stig of the Dump and a lot of their topic work is based on this story.

Information on Trips

Each year the children in Years 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to take part in a residential trip to an outdoor pursuits activity centre.  This year’s residential trip is to Manor Adventure in Lockerbie and will take place from Friday, 21st June to Sunday, 23rd June 2019.

Homework Days

It is expected that children will complete an independent project based on our topic.

On a Thursday, the children will be given 10 spellings to learn.

They will also be given maths homework – both IXL maths codes to be completed online and sessions within TT Rockstars.

Children should also read aloud to an adult at home at least four times a week. This needs to be recorded in the children’s diaries by an adult.

Parental Help

If you have any time to spare and would like to offer your services in Year 5 please contact Mrs Tickle or Mrs Diggle to make the necessary arrangements.  Your help will always be welcomed.
